We recommend staying in Leblon or Ipanema. Both are close to the beach and are the safest areas for visitors. Other areas can be safe as well, but these neighborhoods are the most reliable and comfortable.

We recommend Jurerê as the primary nightlife area. Lagoa is another great option with bars, restaurants, beaches, and strong surfer culture. Centro is more urban and less of an escape.

These areas are slightly removed from the nightlife but still close enough to reach within a 10–15 minute drive, giving you peaceful mornings after a long night out.

We’d recommend staying just outside Chora. The hills can be steep, but staying close saves expensive cab rides and keeps you near great views, restaurants, and nightlife.

Liscia di Vacca, Baja Sardinia, Poltu Quatu, and Porto Cervo are ideal bases. These spots offer access to nightlife, top restaurants, beaches, and daytime activities.

Antibes or Juan Les Pins offer the best balance for exploring the region. They’re gorgeous, well located, and have solid nightlife without the intensity of Saint-Tropez.
